What Can Be Done to Stop Global Warming?
There
are many things that can be done to prevent global warming. Because
global warming is caused by fossil fuels releasing carbon dioxide into
the environment, the problem can be easily prevented by reducing the
amount of carbon dioxide we produce through burning fossil fuels. The
gasoline we use to fuel our automobiles is a fossil fuel that emits a
great amount of carbon dioxide into the environment. A simple and
obvious solution would be to find an alternate fuel source that is not a
fossil fuel or to just cut down on the amount we drive our cars and to
walk, carpool, or use public transportation services instead. Using
electric cars would not be a smart solution since burning coal does just
as much damage as burning gasoline because they are both fossil fuels
that produce carbon dioxide. Using a renewable environment friendly
resource to fuel cars would greatly decrease the occurrence of global
warming. Coal-fired
power plants are the largest single source of carbon pollution and they
do not have any federal limits on the way they work. To slow down
global warming, laws are in the works of holding the large power plants
accountable for all the damage that they have done.
These power plants
have released mass amounts of carbon dioxide into the air for decades
and it is finally just coming to an end. A lot of states have teamed up
in order to raise money to fund organizations that will help create
clean energy programs. The risk of global warming is increasing at a
faster rate more now than ever. The ozone layer surrounding our precious
planet is already thin, and that can’t be repaired. If we don’t stop
now, the ozone layer will soon be gone because there is not a lot left.
The issue of global warming is something a lot of people do not want to
accept but it is time to stop burying our head in the sand because it is
time to face the inevitable truth.
